KEEP IT HEALTHY : SUPER FOOD SMOOTHIE

Super Food Smoothies are all the rage these days, especially with spring and then summer just around the corner. Being a mother of 2, having an easy to go food option that gives me all of the nutritional value I could possibly need in one cup is AMAZING. My rule of thumb with making a SUPER Food Smoothie is include at least 7 of the ingredients listed below. Two of which need to be the chia seeds or hemp seeds & tumeric, the other fruits/vegetables are based around your preference in taste.

This HML LOVES a good smoothie with berries & bananas, but to cut back on the natural sugar element I limit to no more then 1/2 of a banana per smoothie. Good rule for making a healthy smoothie is to also consider the rainbow, select as many varieties of colors and you are sure to thank yourself later for all the good nutrition going into your body!

  • Pineapple
  • Banana
  • Beets
  • Cucumber
  • Spinach
  • Blueberries
  • Strawberries
  • Apple
  • Tumeric
  • Ginger
  • Chia Seed
  • Hemp Seed

Enjoy the trial process of mixing & matching, there is no wrong combination. Finally the key ingredient for HML is coconut water. You can use orange or apple juice but I don’t like the added sugar. Coconut Water is a boost all in itself & it adds a natural sweetness to your smoothie. Let me know in the comments what your favorite combo is!
