DIY: MASON JAR MOSQUITO REPELLENT CANDLE WITH LEMON EUCALYPTUS OIL

Every year when spring rolls around and summer gets into full swing, we enjoy being outside, playing on the playground ,BBQing with family/friends & well dealing with those pesky mosquitos. After years of spending tons of money on citronella candles, sprays & still being eaten alive, I decided to do some research into natural home remedies that help to get rid of the mosquitos.

That is where the Mason Jar Mosquito Repellent Candle becomes a great & easy home-made option!

MASON JAR MOSQUITO REPELLENT CANDLE

INGREDIENTS & ITEMS NEEDED:

  • 1 Mason Jar ( 16 oz)
  •  2-3 Lemon Slices
  •  2-3 Lime Slices
  • Fresh Rosemary ( just a couple sprigs)
  • Water (fill remainder of jar with water)
  • Active Ingredient: Lemon Eucalyptus oil (8-12 drops)( Link below)
  •  Floating Tea Candle

*I like to make 5-6 of these home made candles at a time. With not wanting to spend an arm or a leg, buying a bag of lemons & limes makes more sense & the leftovers can make a delicious lemonade/limeade drink to enjoy while you sit outside during the warm months!

All of these items can be find at your local grocery store and are readily available any time of the year.

The Lemon Eucalyptus oil is a few dollars on Amazon and I was also able to get a bag of 20 floating tea candles for under $10 & that makes 20 candles! ( Click links to items I actually used.)

This is a simple mosquito repellant that can be whipped up in a matter of minutes and ideally placed outdoors five minutes before going to sit outside.
