My favorite holiday each year is and always will be Thanksgiving! I love the family time, the time spent in the kitchen helping my mom cook and baking recipes that have been passed down from generation to generation, to creating a beautiful table that is warm & welcoming.
This table setting is all about using a simple place setting, this one is from Villeroy & Boch, Arden Lane ( Discontinued in 2012-2013), but is similar to Villeroy & Boch Artesano Provencal Verdure Dinner Plate. By creating a simple tablescape it allows for plenty of room for delicious food ,being able to use the food as your MAIN DECOR, along with space for people to spread out. The simple white linen napkin is my go-to for MOST big dinners as it keeps your eye on the table, and is easy to bleach all of the stains out when you need to clean them after dinner. The crystal glassware is Waterford, Lismore Essence Collection.
This table setting can be used with both gold or silver utensils. I show it with silver because with gold on the table runner, it was an obvious choice to use gold. Be creative with your table!
For the decor, my usual go to for BIG Holiday dinners is flowers, but I do like to switch things up every now and then. This time I used decor appropriate to the day, acorns, pumpkins, wood trivets ( also shown in HML Fall tablescapes) and the salt & pepper shaker “Lilgrim People” from Publix. The pumpkins can be found at any craft store, and I used hand calligraphy with a gold sharpie to write “welcome” & “give thanks”. The gold leaf table runner is purely there to add a little sparkle along softening the wood table.
This bar cart set up can be used as a champagne area ( Champagne Flutes & Champagne bucket) , to add a beautiful addition to your Champagne bucket check out my post for how to make fruit/flower ice cubes, link here. Also on this bar cart put all of the table decor that needs to be removed to make room for the platters and bowls of food.
On a side note to all of my followers, subscibers and HML lovers:
Thank YOU to each of my readers! I hope these posts are inspirational and helpful, allowing you to create a HAUTE thanksgiving celebration too!
