In the HML household, Taco Tuesday’s are a very real thing and sometimes they even come twice a week on Thursdays too. With all of the variety that encompasses tacos, the sky is the limit on what can be served. This made me start doing a Taco Bar at some of our family gatherings, which then turned into friends, birthday parties and well now it’s perfect for Cinco de Mayo as well as other festivities.

With an easy set-up, wide assortment of food for guests to choose from & healthy options, this is a no brainer for your next gathering. From seafood, meats, and veggies just about anything can go into a taco and the only limitation is what you can think of to put in it. I personally like going traditional for bigger gatherings, fiestas, family dinners and birthday parties because then people know what to expect and there are no surprises.

This Taco Bar is a simple 1, 2, 3 set up that can be as small or big as your imagination can dream up.

  1. Start with your base: hard taco shell, soft tortilla, or a lettuce bowl.
  2. Pick a protein. Basics are Shrimp, Ground Beef & Chicken .
  3. Decorate with toppings
    • Guacomole
    • Sour Cream
    • Onions
    • Diced Tomatoes
    • Chopped Lettuce
    • Mexican Cheese
    • Lime Wedges are for shrimp to add a little extra flavor

To keep things simple, these are the basic ingredients and the entire set up should take no more then 30 minutes & that is with cooking  the beef, chicken and shrimp.
