When we moved into our new home this month, we decided that, since we had the extra space, we wanted a permanent guest room that would be welcoming for family & friends to come stay with us. One of the many reasons I fell in love with this home. Catching up with loved ones over dinner is nice, but being able to spend quality time with them over a few days, is SOOO MUCH BETTER!
As a hostess, creating a home is a direct reflection of the people/family living in it and I wanted Chateau Dall’au to be just that, a reflection of us. My favorite part of this room is the natural lighting and the fact that my grandma’s chair fits PERFECTLY in this spot.
From the moment you walk in the door, till the minute our guest leaves, we want them to feel welcomed & comfortable. This room is decorated in a neutral palette starting with the bed frame in an Oatmeal Linen & the dynasty desk ( in a cream color), from Ethan Allen, down to the blue & white bed spread, from Ralph Lauren . The details in the room, from the artwork on the walls, to the flowers on the desk are what make it welcoming & quite frankly a home sweet home.
The all white towels add to the crisp clean look & the cozy blanket make it the perfect place to fall asleep watching a movie at night. The littlest detail doesn’t go unnoticed as I like to have a goody basket waiting for all of our guests, from a bottle of water, to a toothbrush ( that maybe they forgot), to some bath products to make them feel even more at home . These bath products are by Burt’s Bees, an HML favorite! I’ve also been told that the fresh baked cookies waiting for them in the kitchen don’t hurt either.
Overall this guest room in Chateau Dall’au, is best described as a cozy oasis where elegance meets comfort. Being able to host our family & friends is always such a delight & now having such a beautiful room waiting for them makes it that much better!
Hope you enjoy the beginning of our HML Home Sweet Home tour. Stay tuned for a room by room Home Sweet Home Tour in the upcoming months!
