HAUTE MOM LIVING APPETIZER PARTY!!!!
Every year I look forward to watching the Oscar’s and we usually have a few people over to enjoy the celebrations of the movie industry. Here are some of the recipes that I would suggest for any party host to serve.
Baked Brie in Puff Pastry ( PREP 5 mins; COOK 20 mins; READY 25 mins)
1/2 (17.5 oz) package frozen puff pastry, thawed
1 (8oz) wheel Brie Cheese
1/4 cup sliced almonds
1/4 apricot jam
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degree C). Lightly grease a 9 inch pie pan.
Slice the wheel of Brie in half, horizontally, so that the halves are two, flatter wheels of Brie. Lay the puff pastry in the pie pan. Place half of the Brie (rind-side down) onto the pastry dough. Sprinkle almonds evenly over the top. Place the other half of the Brie (rind-side up) over the almonds. Bundle the pastry dough around the Brie.
Bake for 15 to 20 minutes. Let cool for 5 minutes before serving.
Serve with sliced granny smith apples, crackers , & grapes.
Blue Cheese & Pear Tartlets ( PREP 10 mins; COOK 25 mins; READY 35 mins)

4 ozs blue cheese, crumbled
1 ripe pear-peeled, cored and chopped
2 tbsp light cream
ground black pepper to taste
1 ( 2.1 oz) package mini Phyllo tart shells
Pre-bake phyllo shells according to package directions. Set aside to cool.
Mix together blue cheese, pear, and cream. Season to taste with pepper. Spoon mixture into cooled shells.
Bake at 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) for 15 minutes. Serve warm.
Mouth Watering Stuffed Mushrooms ( PREP 25 mins; COOK 20 mins; READY 45 mins)

12 whole fresh mushrooms
1 tbsp vegetable oil
1 tbsp minced garlic
1 (8oz) package cream cheese
1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1/4 tsp ground black pepper
1/4 tsp onion powder
1/4 tsp ground cayenne pepper
** Double mushrooms ; double entire recipe
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Spray a baking sheet with cooking spray. Clean mushrooms with a damp paper towel. Carefully break off stems. Chop stems extremely fine, discarding tough end of stems.
Heat oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add garlic and chopped mushroom stems to the skillet. Fry until any moisture has disappeared, taking care not to burn garlic. Set aside to cool.
When garlic and mushroom mixture is no longer hot, stir in cream cheese, Parmesan cheese, black pepper, onion powder and cayenne pepper. Mixture should be very thick. Using a little spoon, fill each mushroom cap with a generous amount of stuffing. Arrange the mushroom caps on prepared cookie sheet.
Bake for 20 minutes in the preheated oven, or until the mushrooms are piping hot and liquid starts to form under caps.
Shrimp Scampi Cheesecake Appetizer ( PREP 45 mins; COOK 25 mins; READY 1hr 10 mins)

1 tbsp olive oil
6 tsp minced garlic
1 lb fresh shrimp, peeled & deveined
12 shells puff pastry, baked or sheet of puff pastry ( I make it with a sheet)
4 tbsp butter or margarine
3 (8oz) packages cream cheese, softened
1/2 cup heavy cream
16 oz smoked Gouda, grated
2 tsp salt
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
In a large skillet over medium-low heat, warm oil and saute onions and garlic until onions are translucent; set aside to cool. When cool, pour off liquid reserving garlic.
Cut shrimp into 1/2 inch pieces, reserving 12 uncut for garnish. In a large skillet over medium-low heat, melt butter and add reserved garlic and all shrimp; cook shrimp for 2 to 4 minutes or until done.
Remove center circle and a small portion of inside of cooled puff pastry shells.
In a medium bowl, beat cream cheese until creamy; add one egg at a time and beat until well mixed. Add cream, Gouda, onions, shrimp and salt.
Spoon filling into puff pastry shells.
Bake in preheated oven for 20 to 25 minutes or until filling is browned on top. Garnish with whole shrimp and chopped chives; serve.
